Henry Kissinger once said that whoever controls the food controls the people.
That is how the U.S. government corralled the American Indians defending their lands, by exterminating the bison that provided them raw milk and food thereby instead handing out food on reservations. The reservation proves that indefinite detention was here long before it was codified with the passage of the NDAA.
FEMA Camps exist and are being readied for forced interment of US citizens by the US military. After the Indian's were starved off their lands the reservation's that they were forced to live in were the original FEMA camps.
The Indians were given 'fire water' by the invaders, alcohol was not part of their traditional diets, which aided the agenda of conquering that nation. Now the people of today receive fluoridated water and pharmaceuticals, foreign to our traditional diets.
Now that we want to retain our traditional diets our nation readies the FEMA camps and passes the NDAA and also prepares to expatriate dissenters.
The war on for our food is just a small part of the war on for our Republic. The Raw Milk Freedom Riders are the modern day Paul Revere's. Do you hear them? _ DATCP and the FDA have an agenda of eradicating our raw milk and related nutritionally dense foods. So just as was done to other formerly free nations the food supply was conquered along with the people and then they were sent to the prison camps. Today's modern invaders of this once free nation, the international bankers, Monsanto, and the like who wage this war on our food, plan to have us 'foodies' occupy the FEMA camps indefinitely.
Do we stand and resist them to the face? Or do we go, happily fluoridated and pasteurized, and live as a conquered people?

_In a recent interview with Agri-view, DATCP reveals their motives for 2012. The most interesting are the comments by the Director of Food Safety, Steve Ingham. In this interview Ingham discloses his agenda against raw milk and the family farm. Ingham discloses that there are up to 10 ongoing investigations that are in various stages and that enforcement actions are about to become rampant. I have posted the link and the part of the article that interviews Ingham for your own review. More family farms are about to come under assault by these DATCP officials appointed by the Scott Walker administration. Even with a recall looming over his head the Governor seems to be o.k. with being part of the FDA status quo. Does Scott Walker really want to scorn the mother's who work hard to give their families the best nutrient dense foods that they can? There is a war on for your food and if we consumers do not stand for our God given rights to choose what we put in our bodies, many good farmers may be suffering the consequences of being incarcerated for our families desires to drink raw milk and eat nutritionally dense whole foods. http://www.agriview.com/news/regional/information-technology-tops-datcp-s-list/article_cb2c0a34-37d2-11e1-8e06-001871e3ce6c.html FOOD SAFETY One of the most visible issues the food safety division is dealing with has to do with the sale of raw milk. Dr. Ingham said, "At present there are between five and 10 cases where we know there may be a problem. The cases are in different stages of review and information has been shared with FDA and with county district attorneys. There are other cases where we are still in the data collection process." "The interstate movement of raw milk is an FDA issue," Brancel said. "We've discussed this with FDA and we feel it should be the topic for a regional meeting." "We enforce according to information available to us. The information we receive is shared with district attorneys because they are the ones who have to proceed with the cases. In the most recent Sauk County case, information was shared with the Department of Justice," Brancel said.
The Bill of rights was ratified 220 years ago, on December 15, 1791. Virginia became the 12th state to ratify the first 10 amendments, and they became law.
The Bill of Rights guarantees that citizens can not be oppressed by their own government. It guarantees freedom of speech, of the press, of religion, of assembly and of petition in one sweeping declaration in the First Amendment. The subsequent amendments guarantee citizens the right to protect themselves, be secure in their home, be granted a speedy trial by jury, be free from unreasonable search or arrest and not be forced to testify against oneself or be subjected to excessive punishment.
All government officers pledge first and foremost to uphold the Constitution. These oaths affirm that the rule of law is superior to the rule of any human leader. Government has only those powers delegated to it by the people.
As a nation, we celebrate our Declaration of Independence with a holiday. We honor those who have made sacrifices in military service. We honor the flag with a holiday. But most Americans take little notice, if any, of the commemoration of the adoption of the Bill of Rights, which define our freedoms as Americans, and sets us apart from the rest of the world.
When Michael Schmidt came to Chicago for the Raw Milk Freedom Ride we toasted Liberty with a glass of raw milk. The glass of raw milk is quickly becoming a symbol of liberty, and freedom, from oppressive governments around the world.
Therefore, let us raise a glass of wholesome raw milk and toast those founding fathers that had the wisdom to restrain the overreaching federal government with the chains of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Salute!
"After almost 18 years as a Dane County judge, Patrick Fiedler has decided to leave the bench and go into private practice.
“I feel now is the right time,” said Fiedler." source Wisconsin State Journal. It sure is nice to know that Patrick Fielder is off the bench, but not until his now infamous ruling in the Craig\Zinniker case that we do not have an inherent right to consume the food we choose. The ruling he wrote was actually strange in my opinion. We have the right to drive through fast food restaurants and eat microwaved burgers at gas stations, but you can not have a glass of milk from your own cow. How udderly ridiculous. With this kind of power it makes one wonder why he would leave that judicial seat. Hmmmm???
Well I received the following information this afternoon from G.L., I will not theorize here but rather let you draw your own conclusions.
Earlier this month, Wisconsin Judge Patrick J. Fiedler issued a response to the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund regarding the Constitutionality of food rights. In his response, Judge Fiedler stated “Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow.” He then went further stating, “Plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume the foods of their choice.”
So, what does this mean? You have NO right (according to Judge Fiedler) to raise animals, crops or even an orchard or backyard garden. You have NO right to choose what food you eat. The government has the right to mandate or prohibit the consumption of any food.
What would motivate Judge Fiedler to issue such a shocking ruling against food rights? Well, a quick Internet search reveals some clues. Within days of his ruling against food rights, Judge Fiedler announced he has decided to retire and will resign his position as judge September 30. He will go into private practice, as an attorney for the Axel Brynelson Law Firm.
I did some research on the Axel Brynelson Law Firm and found that in May 2010, the firm represented Monsanto in a lawsuit concerning a DNA patent. So, within days of ruling that Americans have no right to produce and consume the foods of their choice, Judge Fiedler is hired by a law firm that represents Monsanto. What a coincidence!
Strange bedfellows indeed!
The Coming Secret Raw Milk Tax
There is a scheme brewing in the Raw Milk Industry to increase revenue for the self appointed elite of the raw milk movement. Raw milk products will be affixed with a seal provided by the Raw Milk Institute (RAWMI) upon meeting certain standards, passing inspection, and paying a fee. Sound familiar? Sounds like extortion to me brought to you by the new raw milk mafia.
Propaganda by the government and RAWMI members has been designed to make you live in fear and want only “safe”, “approved”, and “certified” raw milk. Any opposition to their way of thinking is immediately attacked as a conspiracy theory or a knee jerk reaction, and your personal integrity is maliciously and vehemently maligned with slurs and innuendos. No facts are ever presented in their attacks on American's who believe in Liberty and Freedom. Farmers who do not subscribe to their labeling will be demonized and attacked.
All of their superstitious food safety nonsense, has nothing to do with improving the quality of raw milk. Still, this clever scheme of requiring RAWMI labeling will become a multi-million dollar business.
RAWMI is being set up to insure safe clean raw milk and to protect you from all the small local farms that are producing dirty milk. Or is it really being set up to appease opponents of raw milk, the food safety authorities, the Codex Alimentarius Commission, insurance companies, supermarket executives, and investment bankers? Will this help those uneducated consumers of raw milk who have not done their homework? Will this make lazy WAPF chapter leaders who will only have to teach “Look for the RAWMI seal of approval”?

170,000 Men, Women and Children consume raw milk on a daily basis in Wisconsin. One question for the pediatrician's, where are all the bodies? When I inquired about how many children have been admitted or treated for raw milk related illnesses at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee last week Friday the response was NONE! And when I asked why they were opposing the raw milk bill they started to scramble and really had no response after being trapped in repeating the lies of the Agricultural Industrial Complex. If drinking raw milk is so dangerous, where are all the sick and dying people in Wisconsin from drinking all this raw milk ? They do not exist. They only exist in the imagination of the fear mongering lobbyist and dairy industry corporations. They fear that people, voters, will choose the food they want for their families and many families will not choose pasteurized milk for their families. I know many people who choose not to drink pasteurized milk. Why are we denied this liberty by the influence of the lobbyists and dairy corporations? In denying the citizen’s the right of food choice, the lobbyists, and their employers, become the sole beneficiaries of any milk sales in the state of Wisconsin. The Agricultural Industrial Complex has had a stranglehold monopoly on the Wisconsin dairy industry. Family farms had almost been eradicated from the landscape across the dairy state creating a monopoly for the Agricultural Industrial Complex. All was well until a few brave farmers decided to share nutrient dense, grass fed, organic, farm fresh, unprocessed milk with the families of many people across the state who were looking for real food for the health of their families. After the Wisconsin legislature passed the Raw Milk bill in 2010 (25-8 in the Senate, 60-30 in the Assembly) Shawn Pfaff was so motivated to prevent people from having the choice to chose the food they want to consume that he organize the delivery of 36 letters asking Governor Doyle to veto the Raw Milk bill. Shawn got 5 medical associations and 31 dairy industry associations to send letters to ask Governor Doyle to veto the Raw Milk Bill. Interestingly 21 of the 31 letters from the dairy industry associations urging the governor to veto the Raw Milk bill were exactly the same letter. How can 21 different organizations produce the exact same letter? The majority of these letters were dated either May 7th and 13th with a few dated April 26th. We all know how this works. Somehow, some of Shawn’s contacts faxed a form letter written by someone else. This year Shawn Pfaff has organized the Wisconsin Safe Milk Coalition, (slick name don’t you think) to opposed the Raw Milk Bill well before the legislators have an opportunity to ask their constituents their opinion of people having the right to chose the food they want for their families. I have heard this type of action being called short circuiting the process of democracy. None of the families selling raw milk in Wisconsin want anyone to get sick from drinking raw milk. Some of these farms have been selling raw milk for over 15 years and no one has ever reported getting sick from consuming their raw milk. This demonstrates that raw milk can be safely produced by the farmers and consumed. Today there are 27 other states that have some form of legalize sale of raw milk across the country. Now let us look at reality for a minute. 170,000 raw milk drinkers each consume 1 glass of milk each day in Wisconsin. That would be 62,050,000 glasses of raw milk consumed in Wisconsin annually. Over the course of the last 15 years that would be 930,750,000 glasses of raw milk consumed in the dairy state. Almost one billion glasses served and that is assuming everyone only drinks one glass a day. Where are all the bodies?
Wisconsin Safe Milk Coalition is an organization that is rather deceitful in it's name and against raw milk all together. A group of state farm groups, health professionals and commerce leaders are banning together to urge lawmakers to reject any efforts to legalize the sales of raw milk. Calling themselves the Wisconsin Safe Milk Coalition, the 15 organizations wrote to members of the state Legislature on Thursday asking them not to co-sponsor a bill that would permit the on-farm sale of unpasteurized milk--which they say is supported by 'a small number of Wisconsin residents who believe the benefits of drinking raw milk outweigh the risks.'
Members of the newly-formed coalition include Associated Milk Producers Inc., Children's Hospital and Health System of Wisconsin, Cooperative Network, Foremost Farms USA, Land O' Lakes, Marshfield Clinic, Wisconsin Association of Local Health Departments and Boards, Wisconsin Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, Wisconsin Dairy Business Association, Wisconsin Dairy Products Association, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, Wisconsin Medical Society, Wisconsin Public Health Association, and Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association. BOYCOTT the above companies and call them and tell them shame on you for being corporate fascists.
These food fascists are not about safe milk, if they were they would be getting after the confinement operations that are cruel and filthy, and there are very many around the dairy state. I will refer to this group of 15 as the Wisconsin Agricultural Industrial Complex.
The Wisconsin Agricultural Industrial Complex (WAIC) is in oppositoin to growth, new industry, competition, jobs and additional revenue for our financially troubled state. The WIAC has had a death grip on farmers for many years and now that people are buying local and small family farms are making a little bit of a comeback in the daiy state, they want to squash our rights and control our representatives in state government. Who put the Senators, Legislators, and Governor in office at the voting booth? Us or the WIAC? Call your representatives and tell them that they will not be reelected to another term in office if they put corporate interst over the rights of we the people.
There is a growing movement within the “Raw Milk” movement to sacrifice your guaranteed liberties for what is being claimed as “safety”. These people that claim to be awake and know the agenda need to take another “Red Pill”. Many good people are starting to fall for this scheme that will only ensure control of both the food and the people for, all be it that they are doing so with good intentions, but are blindly leading the proverbial sheep to the slaughter in the name of safety. Because they are too blind too see the entire picture, they have began to divide the “cause”. Divide and conquer.
The United States of America is not a Democracy, this may surprise some of you, but remember the Pledge of Allegiance here.....”and to the Republic for which it stands”. Yes, we are a Republic like it or not. A Democracy is mob rule plain and simple, 51% can control 49% with no checks or balances. Our founders of this nation wanted something that would be fair and hence a Republic was born. A Republic protects all its citizens not just those that rule. For example the Revolutionary War against England was fought by 3% of the people, financially supported by 10%, and vocally supported by 20%. If your math is the same as mine that only gives us 33% of the people involved in forming this great bastion of freedom and liberty, the United States of America.
What about the other 67%? Makes you wonder doesn't it? In a Democracy we would still be under the control of the British Crown to this day. God Bless our founders for having the foresight to establish a Republic and protect everyone's rights even the 3% that sacrificed all so that we may have what their ancestors did not, were their effort's in vain? When you have Democracy you have tyranny of the masses.
In a Republic you have private property rights and you can do as you see fit with that property, if that property is food, then you can consume it as your right. Those who falsely believe that we live in a Democracy are leading us down a very dangerous and narrow path, they are trying to tell you what you can do with your private property.
No one should be pushed around and this is what is happening now that there is an outcry for safety and a to hell with liberty attitude growing among the self proclaimed elite of the raw milk movement.
Are they wolves in sheep's clothing? Perhaps, only time will tell.
Greed and control seem to be the personal agenda being shrouded by the illusion of safety. No matter how good men are “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”.
We have been led to believe that an out of control government can guide our future with the passage, and growing acceptance of, the “Food Safety Bill S510”. Do we now surrender our rights and march to the beat of a different drummer in this nation because we will ensure safety? Do we listen to those that continually tell us to OBEY? The masters always demand that the slaves obey and if you do not obey they threaten you with punishment or banishment.
Will those that become subject to these self imposed regulations be given any say as to how they will be policed. Do we blindly trust their integrity? Do they control the media and control the fate of their competition with innuendo's and threats? What they are doing, perhaps unwittingly is working to eliminate competition and gain a greater control of the market, perhaps even a monopoly. They will play on peoples emotion and claim that I can do things better and safer than what God had originally designed intelligently. Their competitors will be forced out of business with the aid of over-regulation.
Eventually this could very well lead to only having government approved food sources.
Henry Kissinger once said “that he who control's the food control's the people”, think about that for a minute. By surrendering the choice of your food to only “approved” sources you are treading dangerous waters. Now Mr. Kissinger was not very original in his statement either because it was Adolph Hitler that first used that phrase originally. Still want more control?
Being narrow minded and claiming that we need safety with no regard for liberty makes you actually part of the problem and not the solution. By surrendering your rights you have already played into the hands of the global elitist's agenda of controlling the food and ensuring a monopoly eventually. It may well destroy the small family farms of which you claim to be trying to save from demise. Now you may want to call names here and say that this is a conspiracy, well I now challenge you to prove me wrong with facts and not just rant that liberty loving people are “nutcases”.
Was food intended to be grown and consumed in sterile conditions? I do not think so, safety has been a tool of control and is now being used in the future to control the “Raw Milk” movement of these United States of America.
Let me close with one final thought from one of our founding fathers “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin.
It is great to see that we have an educated legislature. It is "WE the People" that want the right to raw milk. All the opposition today has been primarily from government agents that were paid to be here. This is primarily directed to DATCP and the government alphabet soup agencies opposition.
Processed dairy is any dairy that has been altered from its raw state by heating the dairy above a cow's body temperature. Pasteurization, irradiation, boiling or homogenization are the most commonly known forms of processing. Also, the processes of chemical treatment are used to enhance flavor, fortify and preserve bad-tasting milk that has been heat-treated and putrefactive. The common store type of milk is processed to the extent it turns blue. They add large amounts of dolomite (mined calcium carbonate, that is rock) to make it white and add irradiated hydrogenated vegetable oil as Vitamin D. Hydrogenated oil has the same molecular structure as plastic unlike natural raw milk. Additionally, irradiated oil is not Vitamin D yet the FDA allows them to call it that. The following processes are used to treat dairy:
* Pasteurization - heating milk to, at least, 130 degrees F. (54 degrees C.) for at least 45 seconds, or 160 degrees F. (71 degrees C.) for at least 15 seconds. Boiling means cooking the milk until is begins to vaporize, usually for at least 5 seconds. * Irradiation - Exposing milk to destructive light such as high-intensity ultraviolet or radioactive contamination; also called cold-pasteurization * Homogenization - Subjecting the milk-fat (cream) to high pressures and forcing it through a tight-meshed screen that causes the fat-molecules to rupture, turn rancid and spoil. Homogenization originated to hide milk that was low in fat. In early years, low-fat milk was considered less desirable and unhealthy. Homogenization today is performed to keep the cream from separating from the milk so that it will not sour and the milk looks even.
All of these processes destroy or damage the wonderful nutrients in raw milk.
Raw milk is dangerous, they say. Why? Because there might be something living in there. You know, probiotics and that kind of thing. Scary! So the FDA wants everything as dead as possible. (Including you, most likely.)
In fact, the FDA describes instant, ready-to-eat food mixes as substances that have not gone through a "validated kill process."
Once the foods are dead, they're presumed safe even if they're loaded with neurotoxic chemicals and cancer-causing substances. So a hot dog made with sodium nitrite (a cancer-causing chemical found in most hot dogs) is considered perfectly safe as long as the hot dog is dead!
You are getting the picture. (Directed to the Legislators)
Pasteurization was first used in the United States in the 1890s after the discovery of germ theory to control the hazards of highly contagious bacterial diseases including bovine tuberculosis and brucellosis that was thought to be easily transmitted to humans through the drinking of raw milk. We are not living in the 1890's anymore. Inferior farming, confinement type operations in the major cities are what caused the disease problems along with feeding the cows heavy diets of grains from the local brewers. This is 2010. Raw Milk can be safe, even safer than processed foods. Consumers today are well informed and educated, pasture based, grass fed animals produce nutrient dense, highly palatable food. Please let us have the liberty to make these educated decisions for ourselve's and our families.
It was Thomas Jefferson who said, "IF PEOPLE LET THE GOVERNMENT DECIDE WHAT FOODS THEY EAT AND WHAT MEDICINES THEY TAKE, THEIR BODIES WILL SOON BE IN A SORRY A STATE AS ARE THE SOULS OF THOSE WHO LIVE UNDER TYRANNY.'' I believe if Thomas Jefferson was here today, he would replace the word tyranny with DATCP.
As many of you may know WICFA has taken a position against the Raw Milk bill now gaining strength in the Wisconsin legislature. I take WICFA to task in this series of emails exchanged this weekend. In the first exchange here my writing is in black and WICFA's response is in red. If you are a member of WICFA I strongly urge you to pull your support from that organization. It is my personal opinion that they do not have any real interest in the consumers. In the mean time I await to hear from the author who remains unknown at thi
I understand your concerns about SB 434 and AB 628. I as a consumer do not understand why WICFA will not support their fellow raw milk producers when collectively there would be more power and an united people that all desire the same thing, Raw Milk Freedom. We were excluded from the beginning. You make your case sound like bickering school yard children. From a consumers point of view the bills are a stepping stone to Raw Milk Freedom. If we do not unite and start somewhere we will never get anywhere. My discussion with Garthwaite's staffer indicated revisiting legislation for updates and changes is unheard of. We need to get it right the first time. There will never be a victory for Raw Milk in this state if you continue to create chaos among like minded people. Just this division that you promote is a huge victory for DATCP. United we stand and divided we fall. Our rights are garanteed as individuals, not as a group. We as consumers have to start somewhere and the bills are moving forward and garnering support from legislators. If this first campaign in the war for Raw Milk Freedom becomes successful, then our collective powers may win us more Raw Milk Freedom in the future. Please reconsider your position and realize that your opposition is a feather in DATCP's hat and will not make future attempts in legalizing Raw Milk any easier. We are not opposed to raw milk sales, only the narrow scope of the bill, statute allows incedental sales. Our points are valid concerns expressed by a Grade B producer, and no effort was made to adress people with one or two cows. A bill that is inclusive of all producers would be supported, however the narrow scope of this one along with problems relating to context of other administrative provisions leaves it unworkable for the average small producer. DATCP is not the enemy, however the people there in authority are acting on behalf of corporate interests, the solution is to replace them. The group promoting the bill is made up of corporate LLC's as well. You act as if our concerns are secondary to achieving any measure of sucess, they are not, if it is worth doing it is worth doing right the first time. Paul M. Griepentrog VP WICFA
My response Hi Paul, You are incorrect about adding changes at a later date. If you notice in the Washington State article, their bill was amended [later] to include micro dairies. Although small producers need to considered, we have farms that have been seriously hurt financially and need a solution—so they are not driven out-of-business. Respectfully, Andrew Mastrocola
From the Eat Wild News Archive: http://www.eatwild.com/newsarchivesfolder/Newsarchives.html Micro-Dairy Advocates in Washington State Protect Right to Sell Raw Milk Rules for selling raw milk for human consumption vary from state to state; some states ban it outright. One way that health-conscious consumers obtain raw milk is through "cow shares"—an arrangement in which "one or more individuals purchase one or more shares in a milk-producing animal in return for a portion of the milk that is produced." A bill proposed to the Washington State legislature in January 2006 specifically includde cow shares in the definition of a "sale," and required that all such distributors to become licensed Class A dairies or face class C felony charges.
Eatwild supplier Kelsey Kozak, the teenage operator of a one-cow dairy in Vashon, Washington, testified against the bill. While Kelsey welcomes more oversight and testing to insure that milk is safe, she felt that the bill didn't recognize the special circumstances of small producers and that the cost of meeting Class A dairy requirements was prohibitive for those who are not trying to make a living as a dairy. In her case, she would need to provide a separate room for processing—pouring the milk from a stainless steel pail through a filter and stainless steel funnel into a half gallon jar—for the 4 1/2 gallons of milk a day that her cow produces. According to a survey she conducted of the state's licensed raw milk dairies, it cost them from $6,000 – $60,000 to become licensed.
A coalition of individuals opposed to this bill lobbied heavily with their legislators over the last two months. The result is an amended bill that will help to ensure the survival of raw milk micro-dairies in Washington state and increase the safety of all raw milk produced in the state. That bill was passed on March 6, 2006. Follow the links to see the bill's history and the final version.
WICFA's response I made reference to a statement from Garthwaite's staffer. The farming sectors financial problems are rooted in 80 years of federal and state legislation and will not be remedied by this bill. My response Paul, I am asking you to reconsider all that I have presented to you, I did not state that this was a remedy for the last 80 years of federal and state tyranny over farmers. It is a start and as I have shown you previously there is a possibility to include all with an amendment. You seem to evade an answer to my previous email. Why? Are you using the public forum because you have a personal axe to grind with someone for not being included? I too would have liked to have been included because I feel there is a need for the consumers voice in the matter and not just the farmers here. But I can see that this is a way to start and work toward a common goal, Raw Milk Freedom. WICFA's response What occurs in other states has no bearing or relevance here. The existing statute is different as well as the political climate. Which question are you referring to? There are no axes to grind as our statement, which I did not write, is consistent with WICFA's mission statement
My response What occurs in other states is a lesson for us, and in some cases a model to follow or not follow depending on the case. You are evading the possibility of an amendment from my previous email. Are you open to the possibility of an amendment? It has worked for Washington and that should be a lesson for us.
WICFA's response We were told weeks ago that an amendment would be generated in committee to address our concerns. At this point we can safely assume that it was a diversion to gain complacency since it was never realized. My response in blue and red, WICFA's response in green From where or whom did you get a promise of amendment in committee? Those who forwarded the bill as per Dan Seigman. Could not the amendment be done at even a later date such as next year for example? No. Getting one piece of legislation passed is key. Supporting that group would give you the ability to amend easier in the future, one would assume they would in like turn support your effort at that time also. Doudtful once they get what they want. Unity is the answer to gaining the power that is needed to win a decisive victory. There is a starting point and without that there will be no victory in the long run. If the colonies had not united and put aside their petty differences to create this great Republic, we most likely would still be ruled by the Crown of England. Those founding father's pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor just as these farmers and consumers of raw milk are doing today. Also you are making a statement of fact as WICFA, based entirely upon your own assumptions. I did not write the piece, but it was approved by the board. I am starting to get the feeling that you do not have a true interest in Raw Milk Freedom for the farmers and consumers in Wisconsin, but perhaps an ulterior motive somehow for your own personal gain or agenda and not the welfare of people that want real food and food choice. Those forwarding the bill are LLC corporations. We have Raw Milk Freedom under existing statute. This bill subjigates our freedom to the whims of DATCP. Liscensing requires premises registration voiding property rights. See State of Wisconsin v. Miller. You seem ignorant of the overall consequences and are to willing to sell out our freedoms for a quick fix in the form of this bill. I sir do not make assumptions, as I stand at law and truth. The gentleman that wrote the piece is a grade B producer and fully aprised of the overall history, he too has customers who will be present at the hearings. This is one skirmish in a larger fight, even now the same committee forwards a bill requiring anyone claiming honey to meet Codex requirements. This bill will not make any gain except to further DATCP's power and authority and having power to remove liscence at whim. You have yet to adress a single point raised in the article. I will contact the writer with your concerns.
My response in red and their statement in blue.
WICFA STATEMENT OF OPPOSITION TO SB 434 & AB 628
The proposed legislation is inadequate in addressing the concerns of fresh milk producers throughout the state, and does not satisfy the mission of this organization.
The shortcomings of the proposed legislation are as follows.
1. The bill would be in addition to current statue; however, it would be expected that anyone selling milk under the current exemptions to the prohibition of raw milk sales would very likely be prosecuted for not having a raw milk permit. How would it make 97.24 null and void?
2. Current statue allows the sale of milk meeting grade A standards, the bill requires a grade A permit thereby preventing the sale of perfectly good milk by person not having a grade A market. Incidental sales would still be allowed.
3. The statement "the department (DATCP) may not specify additional requirements for a permit under this paragraph" does nothing to prohibit the department from enforcing the other requirements of Wis. Statue 97 such as those in Chapter 80 of the Wis. Administrative Code regarding the processing and packaging of dairy products as such matters are not specifically addressed by holding a raw milk permit or by this bill. This could create new economic industry for Wisconsin.
4. The bills requirement that "a sanitary container for the product that has been prepared in a sanitary manner and the container is filled in a sanitary manner." in effect requires a mechanical bottle filler and capper as Chapter 80 states "no hand capping allowed" as open air processing and packaging is not considered sanitary in the dairy industry. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. And an added cost of doing business unless there is an amendment later on. Remember when safety seals became required on small packaging. The cost always gets passed on to the end user i.e. the consumer. We have proven that we are willing to pay for good quality milk, we will alsogladly pay for clean raw healthy quality milk.
5. The signage requirement is inane as decades of propaganda have made the public aware of dangers real and perceived regarding raw milk, other products presenting greater safety concerns require no signage, such as cold cuts, deli foods, and salad fixings. it does make one feel that milk is being equated to the ranks of cigarettes and alcohol. Maybe we will see the BMATFE
6. The signage requirement does not prohibit placement of a large sign at the farm entrance from the public road thereby enticing the public to buy a product without the referral and guidance of a satisfied customer thereby allowing less than desirable dairies to profit from first time customers. Caveat emptor. Let the buyer beware. Most educated buyers know their farmer.
7. Absolving the farm from product liability is very likely unconstitutional under Section 9 and 21 of the Wis. Constitution, product liability is an insurable risk for any legal product if the farm wishes to protect itself. It does sound like the Christian thing to do.
Other Considerations
The development of administrative rules regarding the enforcement of the statue would be the responsibility of the DATCP and it is long established that certain employees and board members have friends to protect from competition, and will lie and use deceptive means to assume more authority than the legislature intended, which has resulted in the perverted and extreme interpretation of the current statue regarding farm sales of raw milk. Examples include the voluntary NAIS which will now result in the non-renewal of permits and licenses issued by the DATCP. The convoluted calculation used to justify the milk volume premium rather than requiring milk buyers to use the generally accepted principles of accounting, resulting in the loss of a considerable amount of competition in the procurement of milk from the farm. These people are our public servants. We tell them what to do, and do not ask them for anything, nor request anything of them. DATCP has no control over any farmer without their consent, nor does any government official have any power over anyone without consent. The best thing that dairy farmers can do is to collectively ignore DATCP. Learn to say, "No, I do not consent!" And, "i do not agree to this". The minions don't understand this, but the lawyers who have studied contract law do, as do judges. If someone doesn't want to drink raw milk, then they don't have to. There is no controversy and there is no dispute when one realizes this. No one should make any one do anything they don't want to do, nor should there be any restrictions on anyone to control the actions of another. This doesn't mean anarchy. If someone injures another, then seek retribution. There is too pervasive an idea that we need to be taken care of by government, when we, in the private sector, are capable of taking care of ourselves. Also, unfortunately, people have the idea that they are US Citizens who are residents of WI. If people woke up and realized the soveriegn state nationals that they are, we would not be in this mess.
Any expectation that the DATCP is able to promulgate rules to enforce the bill as it is currently written and still be an asset to the Wisconsin dairy farmer and consumer is laughable It is time for smaller government not only on the Federal level but on the State level as well. No doubt DATCP is on a vendetta right now but if we show solidarity from the begining maybe we will see the ultimate goal shared by all, Liberty.
